Kim Radochia
Kim Radochia’s indoor and outdoor sculptures, wall sculptures, and paintings are abstractions inspired by the natural world, often by plants in particular. She makes the “Shimms” series of wall sculptures by painting sheets of paper, tearing them, and setting them on edge on a cradled panel. To our knowledge, the medium is unique to the artist.
In recent years, the palette of the Shimms works has moved from subtle explorations of reds or blues toward brighter colors as the artist’s attention has focused more closely on the subject matter and inspirations of native plants and the complex ecosystems that support them, topics in which she has long held an abiding personal interest. Her studio is adjacent to the Great Marsh ecosystem in Massachusetts, and she is an advocate within her community for education about native plants and the preservation of their ecosystems.
Available Shimms works are shown below. Available sculptures and paintings will be added soon. Meanwhile, you can see examples of Radochia’s sculptures on her website, linked above.
The works of art above were recently available to acquire. Please inquire for current status and pricing.
