Winston Boyer
The two wire-mesh masks shown in the Mask Series were constructed and painted about 1900 in France and were used in pantomime. Since acquiring them in 1981, Boyer has photographed them with a variety of props and lighting conditions, exploring psychological, mythological, and religious themes with a particular awareness of art history.
The Mask Portfolio is a set of 12 Mask Series photographs in a custom box for storage and display.
