Museum educator Annie Storr offers a guided session of looking at the current exhibition at Trident Gallery. The special nature of her program brings insights to beginners and art professionals alike.
The session is free, very informal, and no reservation is needed. Please join us!
Annie Storr is a Gloucester resident who has been a public museum educator for more than 30 years. She experiments continually with new ways to guide both novices and long-accustomed viewers — the viewing public, teachers, students, collectors, and artists — into deep, direct, integrated experiences of art.
Her “Exercises for the Quiet Eye” are informal exercises emphasizing experiences of art that encourage patient reflection, appreciation, and an attempt to avoid a rush to understand, a rush to fix an interpretation of what we see.
She is a Scholar at Brandeis and teaches “Gallery-Based Teaching and Learning” in Harvard’s Museum Studies program.
