Program
Matthew Swift Gallery helps individuals and organizations acquire art which enchants the mind and spirit as well as the eye. Toward this purpose, the Gallery exhibits beautiful and intelligent contemporary art at national fairs and in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and it maintains an extensive, carefully selected, well-documented, and mobile inventory of art meeting its high standards.
Founded in 2013, the Gallery serves individuals and organizations in eastern Massachusetts, those visiting the region, and those looking from afar, including many who have discovered the Gallery at art fairs and online through Artsy and 1stDibs.
In Gloucester, the Gallery shows new and selected works of art in a public exhibition space which is also a site for performance art and events furthering conversation within the arts community. There, visitors also may browse the Gallery’s inventory on a large screen. A nearby Annex Facility houses the inventory and a private showroom.
When a client’s interests or requirements lie beyond what the Gallery can offer directly, the Gallery acts as an art consultant, drawing on its expertise and a national network of trusted colleagues and partners to fulfill the client’s goals. In the same spirit, we warmly welcome opportunities to assist other professionals seeking art on behalf of their clients.
Founder and Director Matthew Swift has spent thirty years in dialogue about art with artists, scholars, students, friends, colleagues, clients, and the public. He approaches visual art with a multidisciplinary spirit and guides his clients personally through the processes of discovery, evaluation, and selection of art.
