DESCRIPTION:The Trident Live Art Series is pleased to present me is you (the space between us and them)\, an installation and dance performance on Saturday\, March 19\, at 7:30pm. \nDoors will open at 7:30pm\, when guests may explore an interactive installation in the Vault Room by Alexander Davis. The related dance performance will begin at 8:00pm and last 20–30 minutes. Afterward\, guests are invited to remain for light refreshments and informal conversation. \nArtist Irene Hsi’s performance piece is an exploration of performance as empathetic exchange. In the dance\, four people perform one person’s bodily commentary on a transformative past experience. \nChoreographer: Irene Hsi\nDancers: Leslie Armstrong\, Stephanie Bellissimo\, Irene Hsi\, and Paul Laurey.\nSound Design: Kevin Laba\nCostume Design: Irene Hsi \nTrident Gallery will close at 5:00pm to prepare for the performance. \nIrene Hsi is a performer and dance-maker whose work explores the body as commentator. She has taught\, performed\, and shown work in CA\, NYC\, and MA. \nKevin Laba is a composer\, sound designer\, producer of music for visual media\, music copyist\, and audio engineer; as a singer and instrumentalist\, he records and performs under the moniker Navigant. \nAlexander Davis is a Boston based dancer\, choreographer\, writer\, comedian\, actor\, educator\, and fiber artist. \n\nAbout Live Art Series Performances\nA $10 suggested donation compensates the artists. \nPerformances of 30–45 minutes are followed by refreshments and informal conversation among guests and artists. \nWalk-in guests are welcome. The capacity for guests varies with the performance configuration and is not known in advance. A conservative\, fixed number of seats are designated for reservations. When seats are fully occupied\, standing room and sometimes floor seating are normally available. \nIf unforeseen circumstances require postponement or cancellation\, notices will be posted on the gallery website and social media (Facebook and Twitter). \n\nFounding support for the Live Art Series is provided by Matthew Swift Gallery\, which furnishes the venue\, provides publicity\, and guarantees minimum compensation to the performing artists. Supplementary fiscal support in 2015\, 2016\, and 2017 has been provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
